International praise for revolutionary work

Graham Saxby, Martin Richardson and his award

Graham Saxby, whose essential series of Practical Holography books has helped holographers around the world, endowed an award with the Royal Photographic Society for achievements in 3D imaging, in appreciation of the benefits of 50 years' membership of The Society. Previous recipients include Hans Bjelkhagen, Jeff Blyth, Rob Munday, and Steve McGrew. In 2009 the award - a handsome silver medal - went to Professor Martin Richardson, Chair of Modern Holography at De Montfort University, where he leads a major research project and a Masters programme

RPS members can nominate anyone from the field of 3D imaging and the award ceremonies are always entertaining. The event was held at The Royal Society in London.
